Founder's Message
I grew up in rural China, in a family where neither of my parents had the chance to attend college and where memories of evenings without electricity are still vivid. From an early age, I learned the value of perseverance, curiosity, and education as a path forward. Through hard work and dedication, I earned admission to one of China’s top medical schools — Peking University Health Science Center — where I completed a degree in Preventive Medicine and later a Master’s in Epidemiology.
My journey then brought me to Canada, where I pursued advanced training in health research methodology, specializing in evidence-based medicine and guideline development. These experiences not only deepened my academic expertise but also shaped my passion for making healthcare decisions more transparent, rigorous, and fair.
Today, my professional career is dedicated to patient and public values, preferences, and evidence-based decision making. My story is one of resilience, and a commitment to ensuring that healthcare systems listen to — and are shaped by — both science and the people it serves.
My research focuses on evidence-based medicine, clinical guideline development, patient and public values and preferences, health economics, and health technology assessment.
My work is driven by a commitment to strengthening public trust in healthcare by bringing together rigorous evidence and the perspectives of patients and communities in decision-making. Over the course of my career, I have authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, which have received over 10,000 citations, and I hold an h-index of 40, reflecting the impact of my contributions to the field.
I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect! (zhang@evidencebridge.com)
